Walking With Dinosaurs

Just back from a wonderful night out with the family. As partial birthday presents to Evan and Heather, I bit the bullet and paid for four tickets to "Walking with Dinosaurs." It's an extremely entertaining puppeteer and remote control robot version of the dinosaur timeline. Awesome! And we all loved it, especially the kids. You could hear gasps all over the Rose Garden as kids were introduced to dinosaur after dinosaur.

Quite the initial impact to be greeted by these chompers!

Waiting for the show to start.

I originally told Heather I only bought tickets for Evan and I.
She was thrilled to learn that her and Hollyn would get to come too!

Evan's about to become dino-lunch. Note how the lights look like eyes.

Heather noticed this young paparazzi stalking her most of the night.

Hollyn LOVED taking pictures of the dinosaurs. Every time a bigger, better one came instead of being scared she'd say "oohhh, better get picture."

Some of these dinosaurs were so huge. The pictures don't do them justice.

The sets had pop-up inflatable plants that changed over time, as well as tons of lights and effects.

Although the show is really aimed at kids, I couldn't help but enjoy it a little too, especially with my girl with me!

Some of those dino-roars got REAL LOUD.

Evan didn't mind!

We had to splurge for some goodies during the show.

I can't recall the "period" but I found the discussion of plants and insects "co-evolving" particularly interesting.

There was quite the battle scene between a younger and old Triceratops.

Big T-Rex stole the show. The kids literally clapped.

The T-Rex was a mommy and was defending her little one (upper left corner of pic) from the other dinosaurs.

Evan was enthralled in the T-Rex battle.

Mommy and baby T-Rex reunited to ooowwws and aaahhhs.

Then they gave a few final ROOOAAARS to their fans.

What a wonderful night. Expensive, but well worth it!!
